Acerca del libro
My 91 year old father-in-law spent 10 years writing down (in longhand) his thoughts and recollections of his life, the good times and bad times of his childhood, unimaginable in today's world. His generation is fast reaching the end of their lives and all their family history, experiences, recollections and wisdom will soon be gone.
It is so important to document the life of someone who lived through the Great Depression, prohibition, the dust bowl, the Great Floods and WWII, all the way to the present and still be of sharp mind and spirit today.
The title "Routes" is meaningful to our family in two ways, the family's "roots" and the journeys he took in his life to bring us to the present day. This book was a labor of love, as he is fast approaching the age of 92 and in declining health. Son, Jim McDaniel, compiled all the notes and researched all the historical photos included in the book.

Acerca del creador
A native of So CA before retiring, I am now fortunate to spend part of the year on Anderson Island, in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I was a professional designer and illustrator for a giftware company, the party goods industry, and over 10 years free-lance experience working with interior designers on model home and residential interiors. I created stylized stencils, graphic sports and whimsical children murals, watercolor and acrylic paintings that decorated many model home projects. I also created many colorful detailed floral and geometric rug designs for various residential clients. Recently, I have exhibited my watercolor paintings in the Peninsula Art League Annual Juried Shows, the National Weather Center 2015 Biennale in Norman, OK and have paintings for sale at the Johnson Farm Historical Society's Gift Shop Museum on Anderson Island. I am a member of NorthWest Watercolor Society and Watercolor West.
