As the famous snowflake photographer William "Snowflake" Bentley (1865-1931) once stated, "Under the microscope, I found that snowflakes were miracles of beauty; and it seemed a shame that this beauty should not be seen and appreciated by others. Every crystal was a masterpiece of design, and no one design was ever repeated. When a snowflake melted, that design was forever lost. Just that much beauty was gone without leaving any record behind." This book contains over 240 pages of snowflake photographs I have taken over the last few years. Utilizing various lighting techniques, I have attempted to capture the incredible beauty, design and symmetry of snowflakes only I have witnessed falling from above. I describe the process I use to take these photos and have included a number of snow related quotes throughout the book. I enjoy sharing these photos with you so that you too can marvel at the awesome God we serve.
In the forty years I have been involved with photography, I continue to be amazed at the beauty of God's creation both large and small. Photography gives me an opportunity to spend time with God while enjoying the beauty that surrounds me.
