Acerca del libro
This is the story about ten siblings from the province of Närke in Sweden: Lina Sundblad, Lotten Karlsson, Hanna Eriksson, Amanda Lundin, Eric Hagman, Anders Hagman, Anna Eldfrick, Mia Karlsson, Johan Hagman and Ellen Johnson. The oldest was born in 1860 and the last of them died in 1953. This time span is also approximately the time period of the story.
These ten brothers and sisters all became adults and married. Their lives developed in different directions but were kept together by their common commitment to Christian Free Churches. One of them, Hanna, stayed near the family farm. The rest of them moved to other places in Sweden and four of them emigrated to the United States. Six of them got children and today the number of descendants is larger in the United States than in Sweden.
The family story is based on information from many different archives, newspaper articles, letters, diaries, notes on photographs and from interviews with persons of today. Altogether, this has made it possible to create a vivid and personal story. Episodes in these persons’ lives have been supplemented with facts about the circumstances around them. The book is richly illustrated with photographs, both old and newly taken.
Genealogy is history on a personal level. Through the fates of individuals we learn about our common past.
This book is availabe as a hardcover or softcover version.
