Acerca del libro
My wife and I struggled with infertility for 2 years, being told by several specialists we'd just never get pregnant.
They were wrong.
Sept 22, 2006 my wife presented me with a positive pregnancy test, and my world changed. Our world changed.
It was the best 40 weeks of our lives, getting ready for our daughter to be born, our dream finally coming true. McKenna was due May 25, 2007, and on May 26, 2007 our world changed again.
My wife felt something was wrong that evening, we rushed to the hospital to be told that- after years of trying, after a perfect textbook pregnancy- our daughter had died in utero. One day passed the due date, and McKenna was gone from a fetomaternal hemorrhage. My wife was induced and our daughter, McKenna Rae, was stillborn May 27, 2007, weighing 6lbs, 15.7 oz, 21 inches long, and absolutely perfect in every way.
This book is in loving memory of our daughter. I made it for my wife. It starts with that positive pregnancy test and goes through the year of love, hope, tragedy, grief, and the beginning of healing.
We are still waiting to be blessed again with another child, and I have faith we will someday get to be parents. But for now, we have each other, and for those 40 weeks McKenna was here on earth, growing and living inside my wife...we were the happiest parents in the world.
We love you McKenna, and miss you every day.
Love,
Daddy
