Acerca del libro
The author, Elliot Ricci, hopes that this book will help children, parents, teachers and counselors discuss difficult topics like adoption, creating a family and understanding differences.
In this story Tex is a bulldog and terrier mixed breed dog - sometimes a misunderstood and maligned dog. Elion learns, at 17 years old, that he was adopted. He learns, in a high school genetics lesson, that two blue-eyed parents always have a blue eyed child. He doesn't resemble his parents very much - they are fair and light with blue eyes and Elion has a dark complexion and very dark brown eyes. He must confront his parents to verify if his concern is correct and learns, in the process, that his family kept his adoption a secret.
In the end Elion realizes that his birth parents made a difficult and wise decision as they were too young to raise him. He appreciates that great life that his adopted parents provided for him. Elion returns the favor by rescuing Tex, a shelter dog, and providing Tex with a good home.
