Acerca del libro
A chicken with a mind of his own plays the foil to the story’s protagonist, a little girl named Hannah who, together with her dog, attempts to prepare a lunch-time meal in We Cooked the Chicken Seven Times, This Tale for You is Set in Rhymes, a new story by Jeffrey Picknicki Morski.
Working through seven different recipes from a cookery book, the duo tries to put the chicken in a stew, the soup pot, the frying pan, a salad, in the oven, inside a pie and make a sandwich much to the chagrin of the bird himself. “This fowl is foul and much too smart! Of Hannah’s meal, he wants no part!,” as we are reminded throughout the story. Originally planned for the meal, the chicken ends up as their guest instead.
We Cooked the Chicken Seven Times, told in rhyming couplets, is based on the real life characters of the author’s six-year old niece and his sister's pet dog, Molly. Illustrations, drawn following their images, were prepared by Otar Megrelidze of Tbilisi, Georgia.
