Acerca del libro
This is a memoir in form of a fusion style Taiwanese and Chinese food cookbook written by the mother of a Taiwanese American family. It was written for the author's two daughters who were born and raised in California. It tells the story of the generations of love and care for the family through the enjoyment of authentic homemade food. The author shares her memories of her family through each distinguished dish made in her kitchen. Each dish is presented with a warm and sincere story about the origin and ingredients used. The author is very particular with the ingredient selection as to make sure that the dishes are both tasty and healthy.
The author immigrated from Taiwan to southern California with her family when she was fifteen. After graduating from Stanford University in 1987, she has worked in the banking industry for twenty-five years and is currently retired. This cookbook has captured the essence of all the easy and tasty meals she has made for her family during her time as a working mom. As time is of essence for all working professionals, the dishes in the cookbook can be made easily in the kitchen with ingredients readily accessible from local super markets. The author wishes to share her recipes with everyone who loves homemade Chinese/Taiwanese food without having to go through the effort in looking for a translated version of a traditional Chinese cookbook.
