Trisha Leigh Shufelt is a self-taught artist who began her journey into the realm of the fantastical in 2007. Beginning as a sculptor of whimsical mushroom characters from the Enchanted Mushrooms of Faerie, Trisha eventually found her passion in ink and watercolor art. In 2009, she began honing her craft with a focus on nature, fairy tales, and anything mythical that struck her heart.
“If I couldn’t draw or paint, I think I would go insane. For me, it is not only therapeutic, but a deep spiritual journey. I find a connection with the world around me through my art. It helps me express things I cannot say with words.”
Trisha’s images are often whimsical, sometimes provocative, and often deeply mystical. There is no doubt she pierces the thin veil of the ream with her brush. Her influences include Arthur Rackham, Trina Schart Hyman, Brian Froud, Waterhouse, Jeremy Hush, Julia Jeffrey, Maurice Sendak, and Dr. Seuss. She works primarily with ink and watercolor pencil, but also uses digital art and watercolor paints. All of her art can be found at www.innerfaecreations.com.
