For over three years, John Norton photographed dogs brought to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. Among those dogs were abuse victims who transcended their horrible injuries to show what truly amazing spirits inhabit even the smallest, frailest bodies. Some of the dogs became known by a wider audience of concerned people. Some are known only by those whose family they completed. A book of portraits collects images that take you beyond the labels to see these amazing dogs and celebrate their incredible spirit. A portion of the proceeds from sales benefits the shelter's Guardian Angel fund for sick and injured dogs.
