In the Summer of 1974, Ed Haight a Buick Executive at GM's Desert Proving Grounds in Mesa, AZ and his wife Shirley came to visit my wife and me in Germany, Laurie, Shirley's daughter, and I were about midway through my three-year stint with the US Army Security Agency in Augsburg. As it turned out, we tolerated the Army, but loved Europe and went on to live there another 14 years. During this time, we had many wonderful experiences and were extremely happy to have had the opportunity to share some of the better ones with Ed, who so enjoyed life and what it had to offer.
