Acerca del libro
Jonathan MACAGBA (né en 1963) a quitté New York avec sa famille en 2004 pour s’installer à Siran. Après être parti pour Paris durant quelques années puis à New York en 2009, Jonathan est retourné à Siran avec sa famille en 2011. Ce fut peu de temps après qu'il entreprit le projet de documenter les « nuances » qui selon lui personnifièrent le village dans lequel il réside. En utilisant des méthodes de combinaison de photographie urbaine – comprenant le cadrage serré, des compostions asymétriques ainsi qu’une large utilisation d’espace négatif – le travail de Jonathan apporte une nouvelle perspective à la photographie rurale traditionnelle.

Jonathan Macagba (b. 1963) moved with his family from New York to Siran in 2004. After leaving for Paris for a few years and then to New York in 2009, Jonathan returned with his family to Siran in 2011. It was shortly after this time that he embarked on a project to document the “details” that he felt embodied the village in which he resides. Using compositional methods of urban photography—including tight crops, asymmetrical compostions, and the liberal use of negative space—Jonathan’s work brings a fresh perspective to traditional rural photography.
