Acerca del libro
I always have been involved in the visual arts, including drawing, clay sculpture, oil painting and film photography. Retirement from being an academic veterinarian, in 2005 allowed me to focus digital photography, from which I produce archival pigment prints. The images I acquire are diverse in subject matter, gathered from many parts of the world. Being a veterinarian, I have a natural proclivity for photographing wildlife and nature. But as shown by this book I very much enjoy photographing people. This has led me to focus on portraying differences and similarities among individuals, especially children, from diverse cultures. Children’s faces sometimes are very expressive of joy and a love of life, and at other times of suffering and desperation. My work has been shown in galleries and I have had one person shows, one of which is associated with this book.
