This book is a photographic journal of my discovery of the beauty of the wildflowers that grow in the Texas Hill Country, especially those that grow unnoticed. Most people just step on them. I photograph them.
Wildflowers of Roaring Springs Ranch contains 100 original color photos that were taken by the author on location at Roaring Springs Ranch, Camp Wood, Real County, Texas. Information about each species is included along with its common and scientific names.
Susan Schroeder has a BFA in Art from the University of Houston and is a freelance graphic designer living in Texas. As an amateur photographer, she specializes in wildlife and nature, and focuses on plant life as it is found in its natural environment without disruption or destruction of its habitat. To date, she has photographed more than 85 species of wildflowers, plants, and shrubs that grow at Roaring Springs Ranch in Texas in an effort to educate friends and family about the beauty of nature. It is her hope that more people, especially her grandchildren, will be inspired to help preserve the environment.
