Acerca del libro
As a photographer, I look for exceptional inspiration all around me. This is a pleasure and my curse. In 2012, I decided to document my year by taking at least one photograph every, single day. Within a few weeks I realized that if I didn’t begin to explore the world that I live in with a photographer’s eye, my images would soon become boring and lackluster. Slowly, day by day, I pushed myself to explore new areas, shoot from different angles, and imagine the world through the lens of a camera.
Over the course of that year, photography became more than a hobby. It became a way to express my creativity everyday and a newly discovered passion.
In 2013, I decided to focus that passion on portrait photography. When looking through the art created by other photographers, I always find myself drawn to images that contain human faces and forms in them. Everyone human is unique and beautiful, but it is the story of their lives that truly make them special.
Like humans, nature also has a beautiful way of being unique and individual. From the way a tree grows, to the crookedness of a branch, to the color of the leaves. Nothing in nature repeats itself in the exact same way. Two humans can approach the same tree from different angles and take two different experiences away with them.
From this idea, Human // Nature was created. This project allowed me to combine the distinctive human figure with the remarkable forms of nature; to
create something that is completely unique onto itself. With this work, it is my hope that others will realize the beauty of our fellow humans, and the natural world in which we all share.
