Nothing twice (Nic dwa razy)
ArtSpace Gallery, Maynard MA
April 3 – 26, 2013
Three artists come together to pay tribute to Polish Nobel Prize poet Wislawa Szymborska, who recently passed away, leaving behind a magnificent collection of literature that both enchants and inspires. Known for honoring the preciousness of life and welcoming its challenges, Szymborska embraced the dichotomous nature of our human existence, reminding readers that light does not exist without darkness. Translating her work into visual language through their unique interpretations and use of materials the artists Ania Gilmore, Ania Goszczynska and Ania Leliwa come together to celebrate their Polish heritage, and honor the genius that Wislawa Szymborska created.
