Noted for being one of the fastest growing and most successful airshows in the country, the California Capital Airshow continues to impress after only its seventh year.
Following a stellar lineup in 2010, showcasing the largest gathering of P-38's since WWII, and then again in 2011 with an emotional tribute to 9/11 and a jubilant celebration of the Centennial of Naval Aviation, the 2012 show left spectators in awe.
This year's record-breaking number of attendees were witness to nearby Beale Air Force Base's U-2 and T-38 aircraft as well as Travis Air Force Base's KC-10 aerial refueling platform. The local USCG, Sheriff and Firefighting aircraft demonstrated their capabilities along with performers Sean D. Tucker, Kent Pietsch, Tim Weber, Eddie Andreini and many others. Classic warbirds like the Mustang, Corsair, Bearcat, Hellcat, Mitchell and more also took flight honoring the men and women who fought for our freedoms. Headlining the show for 2012 was the amazing USAF Thunderbirds Demonstration Team.
On behalf of the California Capital Airshow, we hope you enjoy revisiting the excitement and nostalgia of one of the greatest aviation events in the United States.
