Acerca del libro
In a hauntingly interwoven tale of three sisters, Journeys to Places Out of Bounds explores the distinct possibility that parallel lives flow and flourish within us all -- and that experiences of multiple selves unite in a common quest for self-identity and understanding.
Set in the Southwest, with its mysterious and metaphorical landscapes, archetypes and altered states of mind, Lucy, Reggie and Zoe evolve as individual consciousnesses blending into one awareness as the journey unfolds: from the heart of West Texas in Tula, to New Mexico’s ancient badlands, to Los Angeles and Oaxaca, Mexico. Endless car roadtrips bypass the Milky Way and soaring ravens on the way to destiny. Conversations float through bus stations, strange hotel rooms, laundromats and old diners.
In the tradition of Magical Realism, boundaries are permeable. The imagined and the mystical exist in tandem with what is “real.” In this story of layered adventures, the quest is, in the words of the character Lucy, to know “What is true.”
