I set my self a challenge for 2012 which was to photograph something I ate or drank every single day. I love to cook and thought that it would be a fun project which is just how it turned out. The vast majority of the photos were taken on my iPhone with the Loftus lens on the Hipstamatic app and most pictures are of a good quality with the exception of those shot in restaurants with irritatingly lousy lighting. Most pictures are of food I've prepared at home, but things are livened up by a holiday in Cuba and two visits to Crete with several big family meals including Christmas and plenty of meals for friends which I have prepared and are somewhat more interesting than my daily diet! I started on the Dukan Diet in April and there's a marked change of food which slowly reverts to 'normal' as the end of the year approaches as social events and my normal diet returns!
I did miss out a few days where I just forgot to take a photo. I didn't cheat and make food look more pretty or healthy than it really was making a truthful and (for me at least!) interesting look back at a year's food.
I've always taken pictures, always had one (or more) cameras of various types about my person. It doesn't feel right to go out with something to capture images, even if it's a rather unsatisfying mobile phone. I have always wanted to make books and this site gives me the chance to experiment with my favourite themes and subjects. I have a shop at www.eyeshoot.etsy.com for fine art prints, cards, posters and more and not forgetting the all important social media locations where you can follow my goings on: FACEBOOK - http://www.facebook.com/eyeshootphoto TWITTER - twitter.com/eyeshoot INSTAGRAM - eyeshoot NEWSLETTER - http://eepurl.com/cZi0Y
