Born as Angela Lee Lowery she changed her name to Rashida "One who is rightly guided" after she embraced Islam at the age of 21. Rashida cycled through the system as a child bouncing around from one psychiatric hospital to another for 6 long years. She currently lives in Chicago, Illinois with her recently married husband and daughter Keziah. Rashida enjoys seeking self-improvement, being with family, learning new things, kick-boxing, dancing, writing and helping others by sharing her story.
