Acerca del libro
Carlos Gardel was a singer, songwriter and actor, and is perhaps the most prominent figure in the history of Tango. Gardel died in an airplane crash at the height of his career. Despite this, he has been immortalised throughout Buenos Aires through the culture, architecture and music. From the floral "fileteado" paintings and the Gardel murals on the walls of Abasto (the district in which Gardel grew up) to the soulful and melancholic tones drifting out of the bars of San Telmo, Gardel's popularity and legendary status has long outlived the man himself. This is exemplified by the popular Latin America phrase claiming that, even now, "[Gardel] sings better every day."
