This book is a collection of art, poetry and essays written and created by Georgia native, Amy Karissa Miller. The overall theme is finding beauty from ashes, pleasure from pain, and finding yourself after years of being lost.
I am an artist, aspiring writer, mother, wife and non-traditional college student and Believer. It took me 32 years to overcome the crippling pain of depression and addiction. I still battle, I still conquer. At fourteen, writing and creating art took hold of me fiercely. It was and still is my therapy. I have been heavily influenced by the south as I was born and raised in Georgia. I lived most of my young adulthood in Atlanta but longed for environmental tranquility. That longing led me to the mountains of Idaho where I currently reside. I am a folk painter venturing out into sculpture and installation works. I am a writer coming out of hiding.
