My name is Sonya Montemayor, and I am a survivor of Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) and I received a Bone Marrow Transplant at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. My joy for writing combined with my desire to reach out to others was my driving force in becoming a part of the creation of The Beautiful Hair Fairy and the Extraordinary Gift. I believe my own experience with losing my hair gives a personal touch that adds to the richness of this story. As a survivor, it is my continued hope and goal to encourage patients facing a Histio disease or other illness to stay strong and have hope for health and happiness. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and a better tomorrow.
