Paula Lewis tells the story of an ordinary Australian family who in 1975 took their courage in their hands and left the security and comfort of Australia for a 'Great Adventure' in the Solomon Islands. They purchased a local bus service on the island of Guadalcanal which they ran for fourteen years.

Paula writes about the trials and tribulations of managing a business in the Solomon Islands and adapting to a different way of life. The stories she tells of her husband's courage and determination and the adventures they shared as a family are often hilarious and sometimes sad.
