Every September, the ruby-throated hummingbirds make their way to my part of southeast Texas during their migration from Canada to South America. I help my mother set up feeders in her back yard to help the little guys "tank up" before the first Texas cold snap, after which the birdies then continue on over the Gulf of Mexico. "September's Hummingbirds" is a 100-page notebook combining selected images I have taken of these amazing little birds, along with lined, blank pages ready and waiting for your own thoughts, notes, doodles and drawings.

I have a "day job", but my "night job" and serious hobby is photography. I've been a photographer since high school (eons ago). I inherited my love of the medium from my father, who in his day used his Mamiya twin-lens reflex to capture Ansel Adams-worthy scenes of my home state of Montana. My first digital camera was a 2MP point-and-shoot from a local store. Since then, I have never looked back to film. I've traveled and/or lived in Montana, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California,New Mexico, Colorado, Kentucky, Louisiana, Texas, Western Canada, London, and Ireland. I hope to do much more travel and photograph many more things before all is said and done.
