To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the opening of the Golden Gate Bridge in 1937, the Villa Marin retirement community hosted a Memory Circle event in partnership with the Marin History Museum (MHM), during which residents shared their recollections of the construction and opening days’ festivities of this iconic landmark.
This book chronicles the memories captured during the Memory Circle in addition to documenting more extensive recollections shared by several residents who sat down with interviewers individually following the videotaped gathering.
