"Art of Your Mind" was inspired by questions from photographers at talks I have given, and my private students. Between these pages are my answers and a glimpse of my creative ideas.
Learning Photoshop is a daunting task for a beginner, as there is a vast array of information on the web, in books and magazines, but it's difficult to know where to begin.
The book is a springboard to learning more about digital workflow and photography; it distills my learning to hopefully simplify the basic steps for you.
I work on a PC and I trust people with Apple Macs can make the transition without separate steps being written for them. Many of the actions are possible in Photoshop Elements but not all. If you don't have a recent version of Photoshop I suggest you download a demonstration version to use for a month if you wish to attempt all the exercises.
All the images used as examples in this book are my own work and are copyrighted.
A folder named Starter Photographs is provided at Photo.net in a folder named Art of Your Mind: http://photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=1036927 for readers to download and use to follow the instructions in the 12 Creative Ideas. Use these images to follow the steps and learn the techniques, then adapt the ideas to your own photographs.
