Fred Windisch Surf Photography from the 1960's: San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Pacifica, & Oregon.

A remarkable artist and filmmaker, Fred celebrated the art of surfing with his creativity and inventive spirit. Fred was just 19-21 years old when he took these photos, offering a rare and personal glimpse into what life was like as the sport was just beginning to take off in San Francisco, Pacifica, Santa Cruz and Oregon. His photographs, years ahead of their time, capture more than a sport–they capture a way of life.

Fred also produced three videos: The Natural Art (1969), City Slikker
(1974) and Tam Jam. His unique vision and love for surfing live on through these videos, photographs, and in our memories.
