Matsuri 祭り

Les Matsuri sont des fêtes de la religion Shinto littéralement "la voie des dieux" qui mélange des éléments polythéistes et animistes. La religion insulaire est dérivé du chamanisme coréen avant l'introduction du bouddhisme au Japon. Religion basé sur la communion avec la nature, le shintoisme prône le respect des ancêtres et la communion avec les forces de l'univers. Les Matsuri sont des processions en l'honneur des kami (divinitées) une relique ou symbole et alors transporté dans tout le quartier afin d'honoré la divinité. Cette communion intergénérationelle resserre les liens de la communauté dans un effort commun, ponctué de pauses tout au long du parcours pour boire, manger et discuter le long la procession. L'esprit "village" se retrouve ainsi à Tokyo et dans tout le Japon lors de ces fêtes estivales.

Matsuri are the feasts of Shinto literally "the way of the gods" which mixes elements of animistic and polytheistic. The religion is derived from the insular Korean shamanism before the introduction of Buddhism in Japan. Religion based on communion with nature, Shintoism preaches respect for ancestors and communion with the forces of the universe. Matsuri are the processions in honor of the kami (divinities) a relic or symbol and then carried throughout the neighborhood to honor the deity. This intergenerational communion strengthens the bonds of community in a common effort, punctuated by breaks throughout the course to drink, eat and chat along the procession. The spirit of "village" and is found in Tokyo and throughout Japan during the summer festivals.

Biographie

Born in 1973 in Mont-de-Marsan, France
After training in photography, Yannick Verdier Monsegur conducts training in photo services, including Hachette Filipacchi, then worked as an assistant photo studio. In 1998, he moved to Tokyo to be photographer in photopress agency. His many field experiments allow today to work actively with France and Asia, especially China and Japan.

After a career in the world of media and illustration, he turned to fashion photography. He discovers a world particularly conducive to the expression of his creativity. Meanwhile, he continues to develop an artistic mingling various photographic approaches: black and white, cityscapes, naked.
