The layout is simple: with the exception of the first and last lone images, pairs face each other, each image floating in an inch of black space. No blabla inside the book, except for the detailed contents page, at the end. Jacket flap follows:

Front flap:
MICHAL DANIEL czechoslovakia in transition
Dedicated to my parents.
I was born in Prague. In 1969 we left for the US.
In 1990 and 1991 I returned home on trips funded in part by a Photography Fellowship Travel Grant from McKnight Foundation.
The Velvet Revolution was the beginning of the velvet end of Czechoslovakia. By 1990 and 1991, Czechoslovakia's transition -- from communism to subsequent peaceful split into Czech Republic and Slovakia -- was well on the way.
In this book you see what I saw, traveling from coal mines to grave yards -- with beer halls in between -- recording this transition.
