Boletes are one of the most popular groups of fungi all over the world. They include some of the best edible species and are often large in size and of exotic appearance and beautiful colours. We have approximately 80 species in Britain and this book provides photographs of almost all of them, along with identification keys and descriptions.
I have studied fungi for over 40 years in Britain, Europe and North America and am the senior editor of the journal Field Mycology, published by the British Mycological Society. I have an interest in most agaric fungi but in particular I have studied the genus Russula for over 30 years. I am the author of some 12 field guides to British and American fungi.
