I have compiled a collection of photos of my late grandfather's artwork. So many relatives and friends have one or more of his paintings, but few of us have seen very many of them.
His work spans many years, from 1912 to 1962. He used various mediums, from small oil paintings on up to wall murals. He painted scenes from his native Finland, from the US upper Midwest, and from the Pacific Northwest . His favorites were tree-lined lake or river landscapes and the snow-capped peaks of the Cascade Mountains.
A large part of my motive for this collection is to ensure that his descendants will be able to see his passion for art. This has been a labor of love to honor my grandfather's work. I hope you enjoy this collection as much as I do.
