Acerca del creador
The paintings of Marissa Mardon are inspired by her passion for photography. The resultant work focuses on small details and fleeting moments and form a unique visual diary of the world seen from her perspective. Growing up in the highlands of Scotland, Marissa's work has always had a strong connection to the nature of her surroundings. Since moving to England fourteen years ago however, the influence of an urban environment has become recognisable within her work. After winning first prize in the Smithery Gallery’s Art in the Dockyard competition at the Historic Dockyard, Chatham last year, Marissa's work has evolved to embrace Medway's industrial heritage. This was evident in her debut solo exhibition Blurred Vision where a proportion of the work featured views from Rochester riverside and captured a once-in-a-lifetime view of a brownfield site on the eve of its redevelopment.
