In August 2008, I made my third trip to Nigeria, each time as either a guest of the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) or as a Cinematography teacher for the African Film Academy. This time around, I brought friends and fellow colleagues, Cinque Northern to teach Editing and Toni Barton to teach Production Design. The whole experience was arranged by Peace Anyiam Fiberisima, one of the hardest working people I have ever met. My Cinematography students comprised mostly of members of the Nigerian Society of Cinematographers plus a handful of brand spanking new enthusiastic beginners.
The following photographs were taken at the African Film Academy, the AMAA printing press, the Georgetown Hotel, a fast food pizza joint, La Cachette Restaurant & pool hall, Legato nightclub, press conference for the African Film Academy and various streets in Lagos, Nigeria.
