Acerca del libro
Starting as a toddler I was attracted to anything with wheels. In the sandbox with a toy truck. Watching my grandfather work a backhoe bucket loader. Pushing a wagon. Riding a tricycle. Collecting matchbox cars. Star wars cups. Blazing BMX bikes around town. Baseball cards in the spokes. Going to auto shows. Looking for Punch Buggys. Taking photos. Sorting photos. Collecting subject matter. Taking photo classes and printing in a darkroom. Seaching with a camera in the streets for moments. Enjoying a history of photography class and discoviering photograhers like Robert Frank. Setting my camera’s light meter on an 18% grey covered car. Taking a picture of that covered car that is sitting quietly in a driveway. Taking a picture of another covered car. And that one over there. A covered car with a guy strutting past. Or the one with the girls on the stoop. The one with my grandmother in front. That must be Mustang under that cover.!? No maybe it’s a Mavrick? And that one has to be a Lambrogini! And that one…
That is how this project came together and why I take pictures of covered cars…
