Acerca del libro
Orphans of the Enchanted Woodland Volume I presents a small compendium of the first three years of Orphan dolls designed and constructed by Melissa Hirst Chaple. The Orphans are up-cycled, reclaimed, transfigured vintage 8.5" porcelain collectible dolls made by the Russ Berrie Co. in the 1980-1990's. As a part of the international handmade movement of this decade they have become a small symbol of innocence and friendship in an otherwise cold and uncaring world given by one friend to another. This is their story.

The Enchanted Woodland Faery Dollhouse Co. is headed by the reclusive Oxford historian and artist, Dr. Melissa Hirst Chaple. Dr. Chaple continues the work of the company's founder and spirit guide, Clare Maddingly, tracking down the existence of faeries and documenting their houses. This research is described in detail at the Company's webpage http://faerydollhouse.com. From discovered letters and journals, Dr. Chaple brings to life the tiny houses inhabited by the elusive faeries to whom Clare Maddingly devoted her life and reputation ,as well as her heart, sanity and fortune. We know she would be proud to see us on Blurb.
