During the summer of 1976 Bob Coulter worked as a deck hand for Northern Construction Company near Tuktoyaktuk, NWT, Canada. NCC was contracted by ESSO to build islands in the Beaufort Sea, on which the oil company would later place oil drilling rigs. Bob worked the night shift, 7pm - 7am. He took many of the pictures in this book at night, which is indistinguishable from day in the Arctic summer.
