A native of the Pacific Northwest, Newton first picked up a camera at the age of nine in his home state of Oregon. A camera has since provided a ticket to the world. He was a Senior Photographer and Photo Editor with Reuters News Pictures from 1989 to 2005, having lived and worked abroad for more than two decades. Fluent in Portuguese and Spanish and with an archive of a half-million images, Gregg's work has been published in the worlds leading newspapers and magazines, such as LIFE, Time, Newsweek, Sports Illustrated, National Geographic, Stern and The Economist. Corporate clients include Red Bull, Walt Disney Attractions, Yellow Shoes Creative Group, International Monetary Fund, Universal Studios, U.S. State Department and the governments of Denmark and Brazil. He is the recipient of numerous international awards including the Pictures of the Year, POYi, Best of Photojournalism, Alfred Eisenstaedt Awards for Magazine Photography and the Black & White Spider Awards.
