On July twenty first in the year of my twenty fifth birthday I set off with an aim to cover an four thousand miles. From the arctic North Cape of Norway to the Southernmost tip of Sicily by bicycle in one hundred days. I was told by many people it was impossible, and almost did not believe it myself.
The book which you have before you now is part of the remaining evidence of this adventure.
What began as a journey between two fixed points, North and South, exploring the physical borders of Europe and the physical limitations of my own body, also became an exploration of the divisions in my mind, between the live experience and the document, between ‘reality’ and the edit, be it written, photographic or filmic.
