Most of these photographs were taken in Gisborne, New Zealand at the Okitu end of Wainui Beach, with the exception of a couple taken at Makorori, just over the hill.
Taking photographs is one thing, but writing captions that don't seem contrived is something else again. So I thought I'd dip into the old newspapers available through that fantastic resource Papers Past and see what I could find there....As it happened, I even found the title.
