"Monet's Giverny and Other Edens is the exhibit catalog to accompany the show of photographs by the same title by Richard Nilsen, art critic for The Arizona Republic in Phoenix, Ariz. It contains images of gardens from around the world, including the garden created in Giverny, 50 miles northwest of Paris in France by Impressionist painter Claude Monet.
Richard Nilsen was art critic for The Arizona Republic in Phoenix, Ariz., for 25 years. He was also the classical music critic, the dance critic, the opera critic, the architecture critic and the backup movie critic. He has written for every section of the newspaper except the Business section. He has been a photographer for more than 40 years. Now retired, he lives in the Blue Ridge.
