Between 11 en 18 July 2009 Yvonne Barnard, Jurjen Keessen and Dolf Middelhoff spent a week on the uninhabited Shiant Islands, situated in The Minch, the sea channel between Skye and Harris (Hebrides, Scotland).
This book is the result in words (poetry by Jurjen Keessen) and images (photography by Dolf Middelhoff).
This book comes best on paper with Matte finish.

After having been working as a graphic designer for almost thirty years, I retired into my hobby: photography. That ran a bit out of hand, as a result of which I started looking for means to have my photographic work published through exhibitions and books. Blurb gave me the opportunity I was looking for, photo books being more suitable for printing-on-demand than being printed in (large) quantities that eventually end up in second-hand bookstores.

Clear, crisp images and words. An exquisite combination evoking the wonders of nature on this jewel of an island. An inspired project beautifully executed.

Thanks for the compliment, Raymond. I have travelled in Scotland, the Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland a lot and will go back many more times.
I love your 'Outer Hebrides'.
I also travelled through Norway for two months last year. All the way up to Kirkeness (Hurtigrüten from Harstadt and back) and south along the entire length of the coast by camper. Though I spent plenty of time on the Lofoten, I never got as far as Røst. Lovely book too!
