I was part of an excursion to Antarctica, traveling via the Falkland Islands and South Georgia. The thing that fascinated me was the boats, ships and related bits that I saw during that expedition. Rather that focus on the wildlife and scenery as most travelers do, I have made the aforementioned vessels my prime subject of this book.
