From sunrise, when the island is bathed in pinks and yellows, to moonrise, when the island is illuminated with a golden glow reflecting off of Lake Huron's shimmering waters, there is beauty at every turn.
This photo journey begins with sunrise at 5:30 A.M. and ends with moonrise at 12 midnight - a collection of color and black & white photographs.

Dr. Haines was born and reared in Western Maryland. He received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. Following a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Chicago, he entered private practice in Pensacola, Florida. After 31 years, Dr. Haines retired from office practice in 2008. Since then, he has worked part-time as a gastroenterology hospitalist, initially in Albuquerque, New Mexico, now in Pensacola, Florida. His off time is devoted to his life-long passion for photography.
