@Mike_Adkins: We worked directly with the folks at Blurb as part of their Blurb for Good (http://www.blurb.com/blurbforgood) program. With our contact at Blurb, we were able to work out the lowest possible print price and, as a sponsor wanting to support our effort to raise funds for Japan, Blurb waived their cut. You're correct that these savings aren't typical/available to every project, but they were passed on as part of an effort to maximize what we could raise for the earthquake and tsunami victims. Nobody involved in the project made a dime off of this book—in fact, we invested money to the project with no return. Every bit of profit goes directly from Blurb --> GlobalGiving.

Hope that clears things up! If you have more questions, feel free to post them here or on pekopekocookbook.com.

I would think what you never want to do is confuse the buyer. How can you sell the book for $29.90 and show a profit of $11.45 and have the book 120 pages. I can not see where that is possible under any of the Blurb programs. What price list are you working form?

How come the price of the cookbook increased from $29.90 to $46.50. I was going to buy it about some weeks ago but just was busy I didn't get the chance to do it right away. I understand that it is a charity cookbook for Japanese people after the trunami and earthquake but why increase the price after a few week it came out.

This book is so beautifully put together and filled with fun recipes that give traditional dishes a tasty global twist. And for such a great cause... who wouldn't buy this book?! I've already ordered another one as a gift and got my friends interested in it as well. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this!
