Acerca del libro
John J. Bosko was born and raised in Whitestone, NY. At an early age, John used his imagination to create and draw unique images and characters. As John grew older he discovered his deep attraction to men. John’s talent grew as his works began taking on a very tasteful homoerotic overtone, masterfully using men as the primary subject matter. John also had a zest for life and love for his life-partner and for his friends which inspired much of his work. Although he was a very outgoing and fun loving person, John’s work was always a very private expression of himself. With the exception of the donation of his paintings to various charitable organizations, he would only share his work with very close friends and family. When John became ill, he decided that his art should make some kind of a difference to an organization near and dear to him.
Upon his death in 2010, John left the collection of his lifes work to the Albany Damien Center, the Capital Regions community center for people affected by HIV/AIDS. It was his hope and wish that the collection of over 125 paintings would assist in bringing the center much needed funds to continue serving the HIV/AIDS affected community. Per John’s last wishes, we offer here 46 of the Life’s works of John J. Bosko with many more to come.
