Tikun Olom is the Jewish imperative to help 'heal the world' and forms part of the mission statement of the American Jewish World Service (AJWS).

As part of the Jewish Volunteer Corps of AJWS, Judi Angel and her husband, Colin Mallet spent four months in Cambodia, helping to build the capacity of two small locally-based nonprofits.

During this time and in her travels both before and after her volunteering, Judi was able to explore her passion for photography.

The book combines a few simply written explanations with images that tell their own stories. You'll uncover some experienced faces, be drawn to the simplicity of life as a monk, learn more about HIV and orphans in Cambodia and be gently transported to life in SE Asia.

I have always enjoyed taking pictures, but digital photography has opened a whole new universe for me. I’m free to try anything, make lots of mistakes and occasionally capture an image that thrills me.

I am so grateful that since my retirement I have the time to continue to learn and grow as a photographer.
