Two classic Mini Coopers on a 4000 mile road trip - a photo essay. Ed Book presents a 7 x 7 photo essay of 260 photographic images of a cross country trip.

Photographer Ed Book was invited to drive cross-country from Florida to Washington state in one of a couple of classic Mini Cooper automobiles a friend had bought. He expected the trip to be an opportunity for stopping along the way to make photographs of the landscapes of America. Instead, the trip turned out to be a rush across the land mostly on four-lane highways with not a single chance to set his high-res DSLR camera on a tripod to record a grand scene. He did, however, record the views from the highway with a Canon G9 point-n-shoot camera at 65MPH. He shares some of those images, bug splattered and motion-blurred, in this photo essay of the 4000 mile dash across the continent.
