The Swahili Coast encompasses the coastline of East Africa. This includes Zanibar, Mombasa and Lamu. The doors of the merchant houses are adorned with ornate carvings and hardware to reflect the wealth of the merchant. The book is a small collection of these ornate doors, old and new.
