Acerca del libro
This is a photo album accompanied by texts describing a picturesque period of our lives in other places and other times. But it is also a string of stories sometimes funny, sometimes moving or uplifting but stuffed with photos of bygone days. The texts complement the images by adding background noise, loud voices, smells and perfumes that photos merely evoked in passing.
You will find in this book whatever you want but you will definitely want to provide a copy to each member of your family, from your great-grandparents to the youngest newborn babies.
This book should delight everyone adults and children, and will bring the whole family together triggering more stories to tell.
Acerca del creador
Gabrielle grew up in Beirut. There, she attended the Alliance school and the Lycee Francais then graduated from teaching college in Paris, thanks to the Alliance sponsorship. She taught for two years in Beirut and is still a Math/Science teacher in a Montreal high school. She has earned the Prime Minister of Canada's Award for Teaching Excellence. She has traveled around the world. She has an old-fashioned passion for reading books, loves movies with neither violence nor bloodshed and still appreciates real-life face-to-face conversations. For her books she patiently collected old photos, learned how to doctor some of those that did not survive the years, wrote endless captions to identify as many faces as she could, composed the text in French, translated it into English, spent hours selecting appropriate photos relevant to the text, did and redid the page layouts many times until she was satisfied. Here is hoping that her readers will enjoy the results.
