Acerca del libro
The spirit of Lahore is an effort to preserve the fabulous work of the craftsmen, artists and builders during the Mughal reign, even by way of a camera.
Lahore offers a multitude of experiences to all. From wide boulevards to grand buildings, Mughal monuments to British architect, narrow alleys to open gardens, it has a little bit of everything. The photographs in this book takes you into magnificent imperial structures which overwhelm you with their imposing presence. Then there is the walled city with narrow streets and tall havelis. Within these winding lanes are the bazaars, the tombs of saints and mosques like Wazir Khan and Sonheri Masjid, depicting the importance of the intermixing of commerce, industry, religion and residential quarters.
These monuments have survived for centuries and are destined to survive for more, if proper emphasis is put on their preservation.
